The Gothenburg Lindy Exchange 2009, July 31st - August 2nd
Welcome to the GBGLX website, we are pleased to have you here. GBGLX09 is right now only about four weeks away and we're expecting it to be nothing less than bigger and crazier than GBGLX08!
We would be grateful if you sign-up as soon as possible if you're planning to attend GBGLX09 to the full extent, that would make our planning so much easier.
It will still be possible to attend only one or two nights if that's your only possibility. In that case we will need you to send us an e-mail with you name, by 6.00 PM at the latest the same night that you plan to attend the event.
What exactly is a lindy exchange?
Going to a lindy is a little like going to a dance camp, except for there not being any classes. Hence, an exhange is not so much about learning new moves as it is about meeting new friends, having fun and, of course, dancing a whole lot.
Basically it's like the dancing community of a certain city (Gothenburg in this case) announcing to the world "Hey guys! I'm having a sleepover party, everyone can come as long as you dance!". That's why we need local dancers to sign up as hosts so that dancers from other cities (or countries) have somewhere to stay during the weekend.
During the days there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the company of new found friends, either on your own or in connection to our scheduled daytime activities, and during the nights we dance! We have booked some of the finest swing orchestras in Sweden and are expecting a good party so make sure to invite all your friends!
